About Me

I’m a data scientist trying to understand human behavior and drive social progress and change.

I study Data Science (BA) and Management Science & Engineering (MS) at Stanford University with a 4.0 GPA. I specialize in machine learning, geospatial data analytics, and computational social science.

At Stanford, I’ve taken coursework in computer science, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, linear algebra, multivariable calculus, statistics, causal inference, stochastic modeling, optimization, survey methodology, political science, and economics.

I’ve worked in data modeling firms, campaigns, nonprofits, consulting firms, and academia to help organizations use data to optimize strategy for greater impact.

Beyond data, I’ve been a director of a statewide redistricting coalition, campaign consultant, field director, and community organizer.

My political experience outside tech has taught me the challenges campaigns and organizations face. Now I help harness data and machine learning (AI) to meet those needs and propel the progressive movement.

Data Consulting Services

During my time at Stanford and in national politics, I have learned many ways data science can be used to elevate campaign and organizational political strategy and operations. However, only few major campaigns and nonprofits have the budget to hire a full-time data scientist. To fill that gap, I have helped several local and state campaigns, nonprofits, news outlets, and organizations access data and insights as a freelance data consultant.

If you are a progressive or Democratic candidate or organization — or a local news outlet — in need of data services, I want to help you. Whether it’s one-time asks or recurring tasks, I love collaborating with values-aligned leaders hopiong to harness data to plan more effective strategy and operations.

Past Projects

  • Created a data-centered campaign strategy plan with win number calculations, demographic support & turnout baselines, and precinct-level maps of partisanship and demographics

  • Mapping election results on various geography levels from Census Blocks to redistricting map proposals, including shifts over time, split-ticketing, and future projections.

  • Estimated preliminary 2024 voter turnout by race before government and academic institutions published official numbers.

  • Coalesced election result, early vote, demographic, and campaign voter contact response data to construct a precinct-level field database to enable campaign staff to target and sort specific precincts for different voter contact methods and events

  • Constructed a donor database of 10,000+ donors’ contribution history across 50+ campaigns for a consulting firm
